Dist:0.4km<br/>A handsome church, but one which is a curious patchwork of the centuries. While the tower is late medieval, the big round-headed windows in the nave show that this part of the church is Georgian - 'probably by the Bastards of Blandford', according to Pevsner (in the Dorset volume of 'The Buildings of England'). The rather makeshift porch seems to have been put up to protect a Norman south doorway. I don't know enough about local geology to be able to identify the building stone, but part of the mixture is a greenish-brown stone looking much like the ironstone of Leicestershire.
