Dist:0.6km<br/>The Haddington branch line (4.8 miles long), which connected Haddington to the east coast main line at Longniddry, was opened on 22nd June 1846. Passenger services were withdrawn on 5th December 1949 and the branch line was closed on 30th March 1968. Looking at the route now it is hard to imagine that there were trains operating on this line for 120 years!
