Dist:0.4km<br/>The setting makes it look like a rural postbox, but in fact it's by the busy London Road (the A3100), near the entrance to Ganghill. The box dates from the reign of King George V (1910-1936). The Royal Cipher is very stark, and does not contain the Roman numeral V, whereas George VI boxes always have a VI in the cipher. This box was made by the Carron Company of Stirlingshire, whose name is in the black painted area, at the bottom of the box. The box in situ:- [[2317890]]. Postbox number:- GU1 180. Dist:0.4km<br/>This ornamental brick arch covers the footpath into this exclusive residential street in western Guildford. Beyond are open plan front gardens with decorative trees like willow.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The road on the left is Ganghill. [[2317858]]. Just beyond the turn into Ganghill, is a structure which looks a bit like a beehive. It's not a bus shelter, but an ornamental feature. There is a similar one on the other side of the Ganghill entrance. Further along London Road, on the left, there is a bus stop and shelter.
