From dramatic coastlines and idyllic fishing villages to sea-bathing, promenades and donkey rides, the popularity of the seaside has led to its enduring status as a quintessential British experience.
Beside the Seaside: snapshots of British coastal life, 1880-1950 brings together photographs, posters and seaside memorabilia to capture the essence of both working life and early tourism along the British coast. More than 40 images are displayed from the Museums historical photographic collection, many for the first time.

From I-70 westbound, take exit 105B, James Road. Travel north for 1.7 miles to E. Main Street. Turn left onto E. Main Street. Travel to Start Point which will be located on the right side of the street. From I-70 eastbound, take exit 103A, Bexley/E. Main Street. Travel north 0.6 miles to E. Main Street. Turn right onto E. Main Street and travel to the start point which will be on the left side of the street. Event Description: The trail takes you through the City of Bexley and passes by many lovely homes with spacious grounds including the Governor's Mansion. Restrooms and water at start/finish and only on the last part of the trail.
